Step into the Clark Building in Pittsburgh, and find yourself in the heart of a storied history.

This iconic building was completed in 1928.

It owes its name to its original owner, James Clark. He was owner of the well-known MGM Film Studio.

Initially, the building was home to the regional headquarters of Warner Brothers.

Various film screenings were done in this building, which resulted in a little Hollywood glamor in Pittsburgh with various movie stars visiting the building. This brought a lot of glitz and enchantment to Pittsburgh.

Evolved Allure

Pittsburgh Jewelry District

As the Hollywood glamor migrated to new places, the allure of this magnificent building remained thanks to the jewelry stores that opened in building.

The Clark Building became known as the Pittsburgh Jewelry District. At its height, it housed over more than seventy jewelry stores.

The Clark Building in Downtown Pittsburgh became synonymous with quality fine jewelry.

The Clark Building Today

Today, there are around 15 jewelry stores in the Clark Building of which Diamonds by Rothschild is the most prominent.

The upper levels of the building have been converted into luxury apartments.

And as such, the building became nestled amongst some of the other well-known Pittsburgh landmarks.

The Clark Building is within close proximity of some cultural beacons such as the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts, Byham Theatre, and Liberty Magic.

It is close to historical landmarks such as Point State Park, Market Square and the Pittsburgh Central Downtown Historic District. This historic district is home to the Gulf Tower, Mellon Square and Kaufmann's Clock.

And for the sport enthusiasts, the PNC Park is close-by and visible from the roof of the Clark Building.
