Refined American Diamonds are natural diamonds sourced from within the United States and expertly re-cut for modern light performance, proportions, and GIA grading.
They are not lab-grown. They are not newly mined. They are pre-loved natural stones, recycled diamonds returned to the market with GIA-regraded brilliance, traceable from the moment they re-entered the market, with no new extraction required.

They differ from newly mined natural diamonds in that they are pre-loved stones returned to the market through a vertically integrated supply chain, GIA-regraded after re-cutting, with traceability from the moment they re-enter the market and no new extraction.
American Diamonds - Refined are exclusive to Diamonds by Rothschild.
Does Diamonds by Rothschild sell lab-grown or natural diamonds?
Diamonds by Rothschild specializes in natural diamonds, including GIA-graded new natural stones and the signature Refined American Diamonds collection (natural diamonds re-cut in the USA).
The business does not focus on lab-grown diamonds, though guidance on the differences between natural and lab-grown is available during consultation.
How does custom jewelry design work at Diamonds by Rothschild?
Custom design at Diamonds by Rothschild follows athree-step process.
First, a 45 to 60 minute consultation (in-showroom or virtual) to understand the client's vision.
Second, the client chooses a stone (a Refined American Diamond from inventory, a re-cut gemstone, or a stone the client already owns) and works with the design team on a 3D CAD rendering that can be rotated, refined, and approved before any material is cut.
Third, the piece is cast, set, and hand-finished to the approved design and delivered in Pittsburgh.
Most custom projects are completed within 3 to 4 weeks.

The showroom is directly across Liberty Avenue from the Wood Street Train Station.
Regular hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday has extended hours from 10:00 AM to 07:00 PM, and Saturday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The business is closed on Sundays and Mondays
