Committed to Ethically Sourced Diamonds
We firmly believe in the moral, sustainable, and environmental benefits of ethically sourced diamonds.
To us, there is simply no better way to create a sustainable, intelligent ecosystem of supply within the jewelry industry.
Our hard-earned network of suppliers includes second-hand dealers, antique stores, estate managers, and private sellers. All of our recut diamonds are GIA-certified.
Keeping a minimal carbon footprint is part of our mission of sustainability and our diamonds receive no large-scale industrial manufacturing.
In a world full of exceptional quality diamonds already in circulation,
Why dig for "New Diamonds"?
We take pride in our Clean Cut concept in diamond trading, sourcing exclusively from "post-consumer" diamonds.
This means we acquire previously mined and distributed diamonds from the secondary market. After a professional valuation of the inherent qualities of the diamond, we recut the diamond to showcase its natural brilliance. We are able to do this due to an improvement in cutting techniques and equipment that was not available during the diamond's initial cutting process.
Apart from giving older, high quality diamonds the cut they deserve, this process also has no direct socio-political impact. The carbon footprint is also several thousand times less than earth mined or so called "lab grown" diamonds. This makes our Clean Cut diamond truly ethical and sustainable.
Clean Cut is the future of sustainable diamond jewelry and Diamonds By Rothschild wants to be the leader of jewelry stores in Pittsburgh that offers a sustainable product to consumers.

Recut for Optimal Light Performance
Our ethical and sustainable diamond sourcing and distribution process just makes sense.
We source high quality diamonds made from the most crisp material. We look deeper, beyond its current imperfections, to see the true characteristics of an exceptional diamond.
We then optimally cut away the elements that hinder those characteristics to be showcased.
Below are a few examples of what we do.
Please note that all diamond images are under 10 x magnification.
We Recut for Brilliance
Diamonds that were cut prior to modern techniques and equipment were not cut for optimal light performance.
Our process address that.
We Remove Imperfections
Thanks to modern technology, we can cut out surface blemishes and inclusions.
This improves the clarity grade, and subsequently the value of the diamond.
In many instances, this can be achieved without sacrificing too much diamond weight.
We Restore Damage
Some diamonds were damaged. By recutting, we can restore them to immaculate condition.
